Starting a new job ..

On Monday (tomorrow) I'll be starting a new job, once again working from home - something I was keen to avoid.

Still it won't be so bad, the only potential concern is that I'll be starting on my home desktop, and at some point during the day I'm expecting a delivery of a new Macbook which I need to switch over to using.

I've never used a Mac, not since system 7, so that'll be "fun".

Fighting same transition, it may completely dull your muscle memory for cut and paste type stuff. I so miss middle mouse button paste, and when I switch back to my Debian box I never known which of the three keys on bottom left to press next. Install Debian and get a proper keyboard pronto, before it destroys your efficiency.

I use a macbook at the office I also have the luck of a debian desktop. The macbook is really good in that its unix with a front end that once you get used to it you will stop fiddling to get things working, it does just work. My productivity increased a bit when I finally got used to it. There are of course some things that just will not work and its odd getting into the pay for it apps world. But its really not that bad. and of course I still have virtualbox with debian and the desktop with debian to fall back to if I need to. Enjoy your new toy!
