#4 Re: Samba server, smbmount, undesired -x perms Posted by ostracon (70.184.xx.xx) on Sun 18 May 2008 at 02:19 Evidently the solution is to use /sbin/mount.cifs and /sbin/umount.cifs (which are both SUID by default) instead of /usr/bin/smbmount and /usr/bin/smbumount. The former provide for proper permissions, but at the cost of some higgledlies with /etc/mtab and/or /proc/mounts at unmounting.
